![]() The second season starts after episode 13, and focuses more on the internal political situation that the main character finds himself deposited into. For people who like animal girls, this setting has a lot of that. There will also be conflict and fighting, although uncertain at this time what the exact plot is going to be about. You can expect some slice of life vibes such as from Gargantia (the peaceful life) as well as some romantic comedy humour. Hopefully this new Itsuwari no Kamen can one up the older anime. Or rather, that's how it was supposed to be, but the original anime some odd years ago didn't bring that out very well. Utawarerumono the setting tends to blend different concepts and technologies together, making it a mystery. It isn't like a genre switch as Gargantia was, where the first episode gives you a misleading idea of what the setting is about (School Live was also a hybrid genre switcher). To put it another way, it has the vibe of a Japanese medieval town fighting ghosts and o bake, but the underlying fundamentals are not fantasy but something else. #Legend of the legendary heroes kissanime seriesThe Utawarerumono anime series didn't adapt the material very well, so perhaps this series will do it better given anime's better work adapting LNs now.įor people new to this series or world, Utawarerumono is like an epic story about creation myths. I remember the slime as well, and how it was created historically. I haven't this story was based on, but it looks like this is quite a time after Utawarerumono 1. (No Spoiler review) The first episode gives a feeling very close to when you first start up Utawarerumono the visual novel adventure game on pc: some of the tribal music, the introduction of the main as a man out of place in more ways than one, and being welcomed by a village of non humans. I couldn come to love it, the last episode was the only slightly redeeming factor. Overall: got a lower score because this anime had a ton to work with, and made waaaaay too many bad moves. Solve your problem during the main storyline you insignificant troll characters!!!which is too bad, because I thought the characters themselves were neat, but they were used badly. Again bad focus in the wrong places broke the immersion of the anime and turned it into every little b*tch characters problem. 9.5Characters: heavily heavily heavily overused secondary and turshiary characters. Sound: loved it, really brought out the fantasy flavor with a feeling of grandious adventure, which the story didnt deliver well. Because of the terrible pacing and bad focus, 7.Animation: super neat, very tight, well done. ![]() When you have 24 episodes, you dont have time to spend 12 of those showing off a few minor characters. However it wasnt packaging a nice gift, it was packaging a sloppy attempt and trying to redeem it.into my normal breakdownStory: The underlying story was neat, but the execution was terrible. The characters became meaningless to me, the story wisped by without so much as a "hello world!" and thenthere was the final episodeand the feels that came with itThat final episode tried to tie everything up and put a bow on it. ![]() What the hell?!between the super slow, albiet meaningless character intros and super fast important info, you lose a TON of the meat of the story. immensly important parts were glazed over in mere half an episode or an episode. Now, the first half was way slow, basically doing a filler + intro to character together. The little hints of story that were thrown at you during the character intro episodes finally come to light. after the mid point it started to pick up. ![]() This hurt the anime in terms of pacing, I almost stopped watching. it took half the anime to introduce the main cast. maybe 3 episodes in, you start to realize that this is an episode of the day introduction to every character. great fantasy setting, neat character design, flashy animation, and solid music to boot. Not to say that Utawarerumono didnt have some great aspects, but it just didnt quite meet my standards. So where to begin? This anime started off with some great intruige. I love a good solid fantasy setting, but the setting without the proper pieces just falls short. AAAAH! I want to give this one a better rating. ![]()
